Here are my favorite makeup products. These are the ones I use everyday. I’m just starting out blogging so there are no sponsorships in this post. I have fine tuned my makeup routine over the years and this one has worked for me for a while.
Let me start by saying my skin is not oily or dry. I get spray tans every now and then and these products do a good job when I’m pale or tan.
SERUM: I just started using a serum about 6 months ago when I wanted more of a fresh look. This serum is by REN and it is AMAZING. I use it once every other day and it has helped my skin stay smooth and I’ve even noticed my fine lines smoothing out as well. They don’t use any toxic ingredients, only naturally derived hi tech bio-actives that help the skin help itself! Oh and it doesn’t break the bank either! They have other serums too, and I have tried a couple, but this one is the best I think.
BASE: I love Mac face and body. I use the color C2 and love the tone. It blends with my skin tone so well and never looks cakey. I will add, I always use my hands to apply my foundation. I will sometimes apply a coat, wait a few minutes and add another when I want more coverage. I have tried similar products to this one (Armani Silk, more expensive) but this one is better. I use my concealer under my eyes after my foundation and blend with my beauty blender. I love it so much! It is one of my favorite products and blends everything so well.
CHEEKS: I love a classic feminine look and you will probably never see me do any contouring on my face. I like a fresh, dewy, semi coverage look with a little bronzer under my cheekbones and a pop of pink on the apples of my cheeks. Lovely!
EYES: I start with my eyeliner and do somewhat of a winged look and then blend it a little with a matte brown shadow and then apply a little shimmery shadow on my eyelids with my crease brush.
LIPS: I have never been much for lipsticks either or even lip liner. I like to keep it natural and feminine. I like a little tinted gloss or a slight pop of a natural tone. I love this gloss and have used the color for years.
FINISH: I top it all off with a little MAC Skinfinish Powder and then spray a little setting spray on and I am out the door.
