My husband, Ben, was being honored at a work event in Scottsdale last week.  I’m so proud of him and all of the hard work he has put in this past year and glad we could get away for a few days to spend some time together.  The view from our room was so beautiful, especially when the sun was setting.

During this trip, I went to a couple of Ben’s meetings and was excited to hear Shawn Achor speak.  He has actually studied and dedicated his professional life to studying happiness!  His research was incredibly interesting on how our brain works when we are happy.  He was so fun to listen to.  He truly has a gift.  The best “take away” I got from his speech was a daily activity that has been proven to increase happiness in your life and I would encourage you to give it a try too!  Everyday, with your family, loved one, dog, whoever…..vocalize 3 things that you are thankful for.  Thats it!  Do it for 30 days!  We just started doing this in our home and it’s been fun so far.  Another activity is to have a jar visible in your house.  Somewhere you will see it on a daily basis and fill that jar with anything that is an accomplishment.  This is great for kids!  At the end of the month, open the jar and read them aloud.  Read more about his life and what brought him to study happiness in his book, Big Potential!

This dress is actually on sale right now and it is even more beautiful in person.  I hope you all are having a great start to your week!
