Summer Hues

We just got back from a family trip to Destin and it was such a blast! I loved watching our kiddos play with their cousins and splash around in the water. My parents plan a trip to the Destin/Seaside area every year and their favorite place to eat is a restaurant called The Back Porch. Heard of it? Our place was within walking distance to it and thats where we were headed this night.

I had been in search of a light blue beachy dress for months and didn’t have any luck, so I decided to make my own. I used to sew some of my own clothes in High School and a little in college. I loved it and not sure why I stopped. I designed this dress off of a vintage 70’s pattern and added some personal touches to it.

A personal dream of mine is to one day design a few dresses of my own. I get frustrated sometimes finding dresses that are easy to wear, can be dressed up or down, and that AREN’T see through. It’s hard to find something that checks all of these boxes in a decent price point and it shouldn’t be. Does anyone else feel this way?

One thing I wanted to mention is that this bag is literally one of my favorite bags ever! And it’s such a good price! It has held up so well and it’s adorable!
